Salman Khan Enters Final Combat-Heavy Schedule For Monster

Salman Khan has moved into the most physically demanding stretch of his upcoming film Monster, with a 50-day schedule dedicated almost entirely to close-combat and hand-to-hand action sequences. The actor is shooting these portions at a studio set up in Mira Road, Mumbai, as director Vamshi Paidipally pushes the pan-India production toward completion.

A Production Built in Stages

Monster has grown in scale since principal photography began in Mumbai in mid-April 2026. A six-week schedule in Goregaon through August delivered large-format sequences, including crowd scenes and an elaborate Afghan village set, signaling the producers' intent to give the film a wide visual canvas typical of big-ticket pan-India releases. That was followed in September by a 10-day combat training block, preparing the cast for the grounded, close-quarters action style the makers are now shooting in Mira Road.

The approach reflects a broader shift in Indian action cinema, where filmmakers increasingly favor tactile, hand-to-hand combat over heavily stylized choreography, aiming for sequences that feel physically credible on screen.

Balancing Two Demanding Commitments

Salman Khan's schedule is complicated by his ongoing hosting duties on Bigg Boss 20, a weekly commitment that runs parallel to an intense film shoot built around physical combat work. Managing a television hosting role alongside a combat-heavy film schedule is logistically demanding, requiring tight coordination between production teams to keep both commitments on track without compromising either.

The production is targeting a November wrap, after which the film moves into post-production, a phase that will be critical for a project of this scale, particularly given the scope of action editing, sound design and visual effects such large sequences typically require.

A Pan-India Ensemble With High Stakes

Monster, produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations and carrying the working title SVC63, brings together a notably varied cast: Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swamy, Rahul Dev, Ronit Roy and Seema Biswas alongside Khan. That mix of talent from different film industries underlines the pan-India ambitions behind the project, a strategy now common among major Indian studios seeking box-office reach across multiple language markets simultaneously.

With a theatrical release targeted for Eid 2027, the makers have given themselves a long post-production runway, suggesting confidence in the scale of the project but also an acknowledgment of how much technical work remains once filming concludes.
