Completed in 2009, this trail follows along the most scenic parts of the Charles River. In Medfield, it starts along the Bay Circuit Trail where Hospital Road intersects with the Medfield State Hospital’s Power Plant Road and continues 16 miles
north to Newton,  connecting 24 open space jewels in six towns (Newton, Wellesley, Needham, Natick, Dover and Medfield.) Medfield State Hospital, Rocky Narrows and Medfield State Forest are among these 24 jewels.

What is permitted: hiking, horseback riding, cross country skiing, dog walking, bird watching, picnicking, mountain biking, snow shoeing and jogging. (There are restrictions on dogs and bikes along sections of the trail.)

(Please refer to the online trail guide below for restrictions and entry points. Users are encouraged to read any locally posted restrictions on the trail and abide by them.)
